As many of you may recall; I’m contemplating replacing my beetle with something more practical and automatic. A car I forgot existed until tonight popped back into my head.
The 2009-2010 VW Jetta Sportwagen features a 2.0T engine and the DSG.
But, of course, there is one for sale in my area and it is priced $610 above market value according to CarGurus(and the few others on CarGurus are pretty well below) and it’s right at 90,000 miles so I’m guessing the timing belt hasn’t been done yet. I’m gonna keep an eye on it but a slightly newer GTI still seems a better compromise and buy over the long term.

I dunno, I think sometimes it’s worth it to “cry once ” and pay a little more for a low-mileage example . My sister’s ‘05 Jetta 2.5 MT was a damn solid car.

Heads up, the TSI 2.0 is actually a timing chain. There’s been a couple of issues with their tensioners.

Thanks for the heads up, for some reason I had it in my head that the belt was in use through 09.
